Improving health is a driving force of economic growth. Serving unmet medical needs motivates the aspiration to provide affordable medicines that make a difference.

Health improvement is a key factor for societies' growth. Cephalon wishes to contribute to this demanding challenge.

In the late 1990s, Cephalon began its growth in Europe by aiming at treating disabling sleep disorders which until then had not been taken care of. Today, Cephalon is bringing innovative solutions in several areas such as breakthrough cancer pain, metastatic breast cancer and severe types of leukaemia.

In the Maghreb and French-speaking African countries, Cephalon is making the most of the long-term partnerships that the French Lafon Laboratories intitiated 40 years ago with local pharmaceutical companies to fight spasmodic pain. These countries as well as South Africa and Middle-East are new territories of expansion for Cephalon with the increasing demand of the populations for advanced therapies in cancer and pain.

Innovation is fueling our day-to-day practices and our ambition to improve patients' lives.

Alain Aragues
President Europe

   GOING GREEN

Cephalon going green

The company’s push to « Go Green » at its U.S. and European sites gained tremendous momentum right away. Green Teams have come together to implement a number of programmes that help the company reduce energy use, conserve resources, decrease waste, and promote environmental awareness at work. The Environmental Health & Safety department is also focusing on calculating the company’s “carbon footprint” based on facility energy consumption and sales force fuel use. This calculation helps the company better focus and monitor its energy saving initiative.
